The Brisbane City Council is currently considering a proposal to develop 45 multi-unit dwellings and a child care centre on the current site of Nova Gardens Nursery on Settlement Road.
This development is entirely inappropriate for this area and poses an extensive flood risk to neighbouring properties. The addition of extra traffic to the Settlement and Chaprowe Rd intersection is a further cause for concern with this area only recently receiving an upgrade after several accidents. Many of these accidents involved young children, coming to and from school.
This petition is to lobby the State Government to resume the land at Nova Gardens Nursery and turn it into public parklands for us all to enjoy. Considering that many other properties that border Fish Creek are under voluntary resumption by the State Government, we feel that this is a reasonable request.
