As a mother of an 11 year old daughter, I have struggled the last few years to find a pair of shorts for her that don't almost show her bottom.
There are rules at school on the length that shorts should be and I agree with that length. However, there is little option out there. Why is that we need to objectify our daughters at such a young age? Why is it that the fashion industry for children feels the need to have our girls wearing such short shorts? Then I walk to the boys' side of the store and the shorts are all past their knees.
The industry is instilling the idea that girls need to look sexy at a very young age. This needs to stop!
We, the undersigned, call on the children's fasion industry to stop making short shorts for young girls!
