Category: Roads & Transport
Region: United Kingdom
Target: Road users in the London Borough of Greenwich and users of the Blackwall Tunnel
Description/History:
Transport for London and Greenwich Council have proposed a congestion charging scheme for a wide area of the borough and on the Blackwall Tunnel. Charges of up to £6 per day to drive on any roads in the area will result.

The Association of British Drivers (ABD) is opposed to all forms or road pricing and road tolls on the grounds that they simply increase the cost of road travel without solving the congestion problem.
Petition:
We, the undersigned, petition Transport for London and the London Borough of Greenwich to abandon all proposals for congestion charging in Greenwich, or alternatively that any such scheme should be put to a referendum of all those affected (including non-residents of the borough who use the roads).
