In 2010, at a time when the country was in deficit, Australian federal politicians where given a 4.1% pay increase or thereabouts.
They continue to debate about greater benefits for themselves, including increased travel allowance.
At a time when Australians are being told to dig deep to support the victims of natural disasters, as well as accept the introduction of a Carbon Tax, we the undersigned feel that no member of the Australian Federal Parliament, in either the House of Representatives or the Senate should receive any further allowances or increases in pay until such time as the budget is no longer in deficit.
