No More PSO Payments

According to the Commission for Energy Regulation, ‘The biggest drivers for the year on year increase’.

1) Lower wholesale electricity prices;

2) Lower running of Tynagh;

3) More renewable generation. Overall the amount of renewable generation, mostly wind, estimated to receive the PSO levy next year is 138 MW more than the current year, hence increasing the levy;

The Commission for Energy Regulation felt the need to add a clarification on point 3

‘While more wind generation tends to increase the PSO levy, it also tends to reduce the wholesale price of electricity in the SEM (single energy market);

To put this into plain speak... Our government has made another 'guarantee' on our behalf. They have promised private investors a price for energy generation. Now because there is so many wind farms generating power the actual cost has dropped - you my friends get to pay the short fall.

More and more wind farms are going up all over the country, driving up the amount we will have to pay.

We need to stop this madness - its time to fight back.
