The undersigned and constituents in the state of NSW demand that the NSW Government follow the lead of at least 26 states of the US in refusing entry to 400-600 Syrian refugees to the Illawarra. This demand is based on many concerns including national security/terrorism, employment and social welfare.

NATIONAL SECURITY - Factual evidence has been provided by authorities in France that two of the attackers in Paris migrated through Greece to Europe posing as Syrian 'refugees'.

EMPLOYMENT - The fact that the NSW government is promoting education and job placement for these refugees is an affront to the constituents in the Illawarra considering the following. The Illawarra region has an unemployment rate greater than the National average and a significant youth unemployment rate - See more at: http://www.rdaillawarra.com.au/about-us/regional-overview/#sthash.ZlDW6w1L.dpuf

SOCIAL WELFARE - With the large amount of Australians in the Illawarra living homeless and without adequate food or social assistance senior citizens who have worked hard their entire lives having to live a meagre existence with current pension rates and most important of all the status of ex Australian diggers whom without the assistance of NGO's such as Soldier On would be in extreme hardship... the immediate granting to any refugees of social benefits including housing, money, transport and medical, is an absolute disgrace and again affront to the people of the Illawarra.
