The intent of this petition is to seek the repeal of Richardson’s new Drainage Fee Ordinance-3843 by calling for a vote by residents. I was recently informed by legal counsel that this online petition would need to be re-worded in order to make it legally enforceable.
So today (October 30, 2012) I have removed the original wording while this re-work is in process. When that is complete I expect there will be a door-to-door effort seeking signatures which is no small task. We will need over 2000 signatures.
Still, I will leave this online petition open. Those residents who have (or will) sign this online petition will not only show support, but it will help us to know where to focus the door-to-door effort when that time comes.
