1406 South 52nd Street has been empty with little or no activity for three or more years. This is a building that is located on a busy and highly populated street which due to neglect had become an eye sore.
The building has become a place of unwanted congregation and there are a vast amount of safety issues.
We, the undersigned, call on the Zoning Board of Adjustment to approve a variance for the following address (1406 South 52nd Street). This is intended to be used as a take out restaurant with seating on the first floor and single family dwelling on the second floor.
Opening a take out restaurant will generate revenue and support a community rejuvenation initiative. The new business would also become an active member in the block association. This in turn would be positive and and the business could employ members of the community.
