Cineworld Group PLC is a cinema chain operating in the United Kingdom, Ireland and Jersey. It is the second-largest cinema operator in the UK with over 800 screens.
This cinema chain is planning to build a 4 screen multiplex cinema (brand name - Crouch End Picture House) at 165 Tottenham Lane in Crouch End, a short distance away from the independent 2 screen ArtHouse cinema which is scheduled to open in December 2013.

We the undersigned call on Haringey Council, London to reject the planning application (HGY/2013/1984) for a 4 screen multiplex cinema at 165 Tottenham Lane, Crouch End, London N8 9BY.
We object to this development on the following grounds:
1. A 4 screen multiplex cinema will dominate the historic conservation area adjacent to it both in size and scale. The arrival of a large corporate chain will detrimentally change Crouch End's unique village character.
2. Residential parking spaces are already stretched to the maximum in Crouch End and the addition of a 590 seat cinema that is open until 12.30am on weekdays and 1.30am at weekends, will make the situation intolerable.
