It has longed ceased to be a hidden matter, the acrimony that presently exists in the leadership structure of the Assemblies of God Church Nigeria; all anyone needs do is google the words Assemblies of God Nigeria for unwashed dirty linens to come tumbling out. What started as a 'police action' has escalated into a full blown 'war' where fisticuffs, weapons, treachery, manipulations, and the like, have been freely used -with each camp claiming to be fighting for God and the people of God. When it all started, it was hoped that things will sort themselves out; but time has proven that hope grievously misplaced.

It is no gainsaying that those who have been enmeshed, directly or remotely, willingly or unwillingly, in this dunghill wrestling duel are not in the position to wash the feet of the saints; for he who must wash the feet of another must have clean hands. They are not in the position to provide guidance, having been part of the confusion. They are not in a position to feed the sheep of God, having soiled the still waters and trodden down the pasture in their elephantine fight.

The saints of God therefore say "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!" Clergy or laity, we are all equal in His sight. Both clergy and laity have laboured in this portion of His Vineyard called Assemblies of God Nigeria; thus, we all have a stake in what happens in this portion of His Vineyard and therefore demand a restoration of our beloved AG!

We, the undersigned, demand that ALL participants in this ugly episode of leadership struggle going on presently in the Assemblies of God Nigeria to henceforth resign whatever position they occupy -be it in the General Council, Districts or Sections- in order that a caretaker administration of avowed neutral hands, those who are known not to have taken any side, be allowed to steer and steady this ship.

We call on all members of the former Executive Council, Reverend Paul Emeka's Executive Council, Reverend Chidi Okoroafor's Executive Council, all District Superintendents and presbyters, all Sectional leaders enmeshed in this acrimonious contention to resign their positions that the Church of God might prevail against the gates of hell.

It is our suggestion that the Reverend Uma Ukpai graciously takes it upon himself, working with neutral hands -clergy and laity- and as the Spirit leads them, to see that a caretaker administration emerges.
