Modern adaptation of El Filibusterismo

I would like to call the Filipino people to approve my proposal of a modern film adaptation of El Filibusterismo.

The film will:

1. be produced and directed in the style of Filipino society films and literature of the 1960s-1990s, particularly the films of Lino Brocka and Ishmael Bernal, as well as Lualhati Bautista's novel Dekada '70;

2. discuss thoroughly the current social, economic and political issues like press freedom, food and oil crises, extrajudicial punishment, alleged corruption cases in the government, unfair labor practices, poor work conditions, environmental awareness, artificial birth control methods, and defamatory showbiz gossip;

3. include the hottest celebrities on Philippine film and television; and

4. encourage Filipinos to support true democracy.
