Birmingham City Council, and its concerned residents, calls upon the British Government (and Birmingham MP's) to do all it (and they) can by insisting on the immediate release of British residents still held at Guantanamo along with a guarantee that they will be returned to Britain to join their families.

Should there be any charges against them and they are deemed fit to stand trial, they should be tried in accordance with the law and be guaranteed a fair trial.

If there are no charges against them they should be immediately and unconditionally released.
