Australia

I, Mr. Ian Peter Muliaga, am currently being detained at the Villawood Immigration Detention Center, NSW, Australia, and am facing deportation. However, my three children, namely Angelo Muliaga (age 9), Phoenix Muliaga (age 9), and Shaniqua Muliaga (age 8) who are born Australian citizens will be left at the care of my single mother who is a pensioner on disability.

I fear that my removal from Australia will result in my children not being able to be taken care of and will eventually end up in foster homes and/or the care of the state. I am desperately fighting for their rights (my children) to have at least one parent, myself, to raise them, as their mother is in rehab and is unable to care for them either.

My reflection on life and what is most important has ultimately changed my perspective and completely understand my utmost and foremost responsibility, and that is to those of my children. I speak with my children daily and my soul cries out for their needs and tears, unable to comfort and provide for them as a father should and would, though restricted being in detention facing deportation. Let me thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind support and consideration making my plea heard to the Minister.

We, the undersigned, call on the Minister of Immigration and Border Protection to Intervene in the matter of Mr. Ian Peter Muliaga as a party obligated to the Convention of the Rights of the Child (CROC) where the best interest of his three children, namely Angelo Muliaga (age 9), Phoenix Muliaga (age 9) and Shaniqua Muliaga (age 8) who are born Australian Citizens, will be the Primary Consideration.

Also, Ministerial Intervention is sought from the Honorable Minister under strong compassionate circumstances as the failure to recognise them will result in irreperable harm and conitnueing hardship to his three children and his immediate family which include his single mother, Malia Pa'ala, an Australian Citizen pensior on disability, and his only brother Lee Muliaga and his Partner, and their two children of their own. We also seek the Honorable Minister's Ministerial Intervention considering the length of time Mr. Muliaga has been present in Australia (20 years) since he was 10 years old and his level of integration into the Australian Community.

With careful consideration of these Unique and Exceptional Circustances, we hereby pray the Honorable Minister will consider interveneing in the matter concerning Mr. Ian Peter Muliaga, to make the humane decision that will not leave his three children fatherless, nor impose continual hardship on his mother and brother, by granting Mr. Muliaga a Visa to stay in Australia and fulfill his obligations to his three children and other immediate family members.

Surely his Children's lives and happiness are depending on a the Honorable Minister's Intervention, as His failure to do so will surely and inevitably bring harm and hardship to his children and family and destroy any hope for a happy and fulfilling life for them as is their rights as Australian Citizens.
