1. חקלאות בעלי חיים אחראית ל-18% מהפליטה העולמית של גזי חממה, כפי שהיא נמדדת ביחידות השפעה השקולות להשפעת פחמן דו-חמצני. לשם השוואה: כלי התחבורה (כל המכוניות, המשאיות, המטוסים ושאר כלי הרכב בעולם) אחראיים רק ל-13.5% מהפליטה.

קרקעות. השטח הכולל המנוצל לתעשייה זו מהווה 30% מהקרקע על פני כדור הארץ ו-70% מהשטח המנוצל לחקלאות מכל סוג.

5. בעולם ישנם מילארד בני אדם המסתובבים רעבים כל יום. "בתבואה שבה ניתן להאכיל 2 מליארד איש משתמשים במקום זאת כדי להאביס בעלי חיים שמגודלים בתעשיית המזון מן החי" כך על פי דו"ח שפורסם לאחרונה על ידי Compassion in World Farming (חמלה בעולם החקלאות), נדרשים 16 פאונד של תבואה (7.25 קג' ~) על מנת לייצר 1 פאונד (0.4536 קג'~) של בשר.
