Manheim Central High School changed their dress code for the 2015-2016 year; in both good and bad ways. But the bad ways seem to stand out to me more than anything right now.

A new rule in the dress code is that if girls wear any tight fitting pants such as leggings (skinny jeans not included) their backsides must be covered. But how they enforce it, isn't fair.

Manheim Central High School's new addition to the dress code "Leggings/tights are acceptable if the student's buttocks are covered with shorts, shirt, or other type of clothing." BUT.. Why are they willing to make this change in the dress code just now? This is where the problem comes in for a few reasons. If a girl's backside is showing in leggings, why interrupt her school day and education basically tell her that her backside is inherently sexual or "disturbing". Never once has the scenario happened where because a girl's backside was not covered, a boy failed a test, or was so distracted he could not take notes. Not only this, but the dress code is not enforced for EVERYONE. "We catch as many as we can." Says the assistant principal. No.. You do not. Pulling in one or two girls about it when there's still plenty more to be caught, isn't enforcing the dress code. If you're going to make rules, enforce them for EVERYONE, not a select few.
