Improving maternity services in England

We, the undersigned, call on the government to make available

- More awareness of pre-natal and post-natal depression with confidential counselling sessions readily available for pregnant women and new mums.

- Consistent care during pregnancy with more adequate pre-natal classes.

- Private rooms for all mothers and their partners in labour and after labour during the hospital stay.

- Improved after-care .

- More access to alternative therapies to make labour a less 'medical' ordeal.
