This is now the 3rd occasion within 6 weeks where all 14 residents in Tuggerah Str,Lisarow, NSW 2250 have either been marooned in their homes or could not get across the bridge to get home for over 8 hours on the last 2 occasions and 3 hours on the first in the last 6 weeks. Simply unacceptable.

Lisarow Station 561079
1. 12 June 2011 from 16:00 to 07:00. No data provided
2. 20 July 2011 from 08:00 to 16:00. 21mm in 24 hours
3. 21 July 2011 from 15:00 to 23:00. 50mm in 24 hours.

BOM - I am also concerned that I can’t get through to the Bureau of Meteorology to find out information on rain fall, considering we are being marooned so often, it would be nice to know that someone is looking out for us during night time hours or we should at least be able to rest assured by being able to find out that the rain is going to let up throughout the night? How about answering your phone?

RTA - Another major concern is that no road closures were made during any of these regular floods and I fear that their will be an accident soon with neighbours driving over the bridge at early flood signs and after the water starts to reside (Its isn't possible for the period of after an hour at the start and after an hour towards the end, even with a 4X4) where the heavy water current might sweep them and their vehicles down stream. The RTA need to arrange for road closures at Tuggerah Str for the 14 residents when it is unsafe to cross the bridge.

It seems we are deliberately ignored by Gosford City Council, the RTA and the BOM despite constant calls for help, because of the lack of concern for our safety or the constant damage to our properties, we the residents in Tuggerah Str will know be taking further action.

We, the undersigned, call on the Gosford City Council to review the current flood plan for Cut Rock creek and start a new flood study to find out how to mitigate the amount of water we experience on our properties every time it rains (doesn't matter if its 10mm or 20mm, the bridge is not passable for up to 8 hours) and we the residents are marooned with no assistance each time.

As a start, we the undersigned also call on Council to immediately start to manage the maintenance of the creek to remove the large amount of sediment build up which we believe is adding to the flooding conditions every time it rains.

We, the undersigned, call on the RTA to arrange for road closures of Tuggerah str each time it rains in order to protect the residents and their guests from being washed away by the strong water currents.
