Mandatory Contact Hours For Nurses in the State of Oklahoma

We, the undersigned nurses in the State of Oklahoma, are writing to request that the requirement of mandatory Contact Hours be instituted.

The mission of the Board of Nursing to protect and promote the welfare of the people of Oklahoma by ensuring that each person holding a license as a nurse in the State of Oklahoma is competent to practice safely.

Continuing education in nursing is defined as programs beyond the basic preparation which are designed to promote and enrich knowledge, improve skills, and develop attitudes for the enhancement of nursing practice, thus improving health care to the public.

All nurses with an active Oklahoma license should be required to complete continuing education for relicensure.
