Maemi was formed in the early year of 2009 by two close friends, Bou and Hide, the two’s names are originally Peter and Ethan, but they prefer stage names in public, cameras, performances and etc. The idea of Maemi was to revolutionize the Japanese Rock and Visual Scene in America; they’ve done a few public shows so far in Phoenix and have also played some shows with local bands around the area. With most audiences unfamiliar with the brand of music they introduced through their performances, the reaction was better than expected.

Maemi comes from the Japanese language, having 3 different meanings but all meaningful.

Ethan (Hide) believes that Maemi is not a band, but a world that Bou and himself had created, to introduce others too that have not seen before or heard. With multiple styles in their minds, Bou came from a heavy metal, rock genre, as Hide came from a more pop, dance, baroque style/ genre. Mixing the multiple styles has created a new opening in their life.

Though Maemi is created by the two, Hide also believes that the only time Maemi ever exist is when they perform or they are together in music. It’s also true that Bou and Hide aren’t the only members, though there are 4 others. The two believe that they are musical guest in their world, but they have not yet been claimed as official members. Bou and Hide both guitarist are the only official members do far.

Maemi is always sure to make those who attend their performances, smile, feel emotion and dance.

Maemi has numerous amounts of covers, which they also perform for cons. Though if requested Tucon will be their first con performance. Their cover list contains the artist such as:
