We The undersigned ask London Luton airport PLC to include in their airport expansion planning permission:

A building for enthusiasts and the general public to go to observe aircraft at Luton airport or a designated area within the terminal which:

Is an indoor area
Has basic facilities such as toilets
Has some other facilities for the comfort of visitors
such as a model shop/café, interactive displays, a
section about the history of Luton and the airport.
Has a car and coach parking area and transport links
to the terminals and any transport interchange facility in use.
Has screens showing flight arrivals and departures
and a special designed spotting terrace either indoors or on the roof of the facility.

We believe this is a good idea because:

People need somewhere to wave off or greet their family and friends and if such a facility is not provided they will go elsewhere which means even more places for the already very busy security to patrol.

Several other medium and large European airports have such a viewing gallery and if Luton airport is going to expand to this size they should also have such a facility.

Luton airport originally had a spotters facility that was closed down and I really enjoyed using it.

We (the spotter) use the airport and are in favour of the airport expansion and keep an eye out for any unusual or suspicious activity and the photographs we take the articles we write give London Luton airport a good name throughout the world thus bringing more travellers to the airfield.
