90% of felons are unemployed and 60% live on the streets or in shelters.Advocates say helping ex-felons get jobs is a key to safer communities and economic growth. Turning past offenders down for employment is dehumanizing, judgemental, discriminative and barbarous.

Applications often ask have you been convicted of a felony and if yes, that it won't necessarily disqualify you from employment. But those of us that are knows the reverse side to that.

People are released from prison daily and the biggest barrier and fear that is met is finding steady employment. This fear is what often makes offenders recommit and initiates the cycle in high recidivism rates. Recidivism rates for prisoners within one year is 44.1 this number rises to 67.5 within3 years of being released from prison mainly to the source of lack of employment.

So, I hereby bring and introduce my petition to the community and the people on behalf of the many past offenders who've been put back in society to reintegrate. But lack the support of employment by businesses and government officials.

Help us put our past behind, move forward and get employment by signing the petition. The more signatures is the better so when we present it to the senator and legislators they'll see how serious this issue is and how many supports that this is an uprising problem in states all over America.

This problem effects the financial, emotional and mental stability of ex-felons. As well as leading to the rising high rates of criminal and prison recidivism.
