Recently, the Moore Public Schools board of education made the decision to increase the walking distance from 1/4 mile to 1/2 mile. This means that the children of this neighborhood will be required to walk to school daily, thus crossing the newly re-constructed, 4-lane 12th Avenue.
This recommendation will include all children, grades K-6, in the Oak Creek housing addition that attend Winding Creek Elementary.
The Board of Education has assigned another crossing guard, but the location of that guard will be after Stadium Drive, at a minimum.
We, the undersigned, call on the Moore Public Schools Board of Education, to assign a bus route to the Oak Creek Housing addition, to ensure our children's safety.
