I understand it's winter, there's amazing powder and we live on the best mountain in North America; besides that, city people come up and spend $100 on a lift ticket then as soon as 3 comes they're driving back down to the city without putting any money towards the village.
WE locals on the other hand buy breakfast lunch and dinner, groceries, SEASON PASSES, nightlife. Locals contribute a ton to make this village run and consistently bring people back to visit here. Since before Christmas break we have been praying for the lines at each chair lift to die down a little bit but no such luck. Obviously you can't predict weather or who is coming up to ride but there's no reason for us who pay over $2000 each to snowboard everyday should have to wait in over an hour line up at every chair every Monday Thursday- Sunday.
I would have NEVER purchased a season pass if i knew I would only have 2 days a week to have a solid day of riding and even on those days PEOPLE WORK during the week. We like other people only have the weekend to ride; give us a break for paying so much money to keep Whistler Village going.
Locals of Whistler that ACTUALLY work in Whistler Village to keep this place running deserve the right to upload without having to wait numerous hours to get to the next chair to wait another couple hours to ride.
It doesn't seem right that the locals that live and ride everyday and keep this place going have to struggle to pay $2,000 to basically have Tuesday and Wednesday during the week to have a solid day of riding.
