Light the Empire State Building Blue in September for Histio Awareness

Histiocytosis, hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis, Pulmonary histiocytosis, rosai dorfman, and, erdheim chester are a group of related rare diseases. Patients with these diseases can experience severe damage to their liver, lungs, bones, skin and brain. Many do not survive.
Although physicians and scientists continue to debate whether or not these diseases are a rare form of cancer chemotherapy is sometimes used.
We are requesting that the Empire State Building be lit in blue, throughout the first weekend in September, 2015 to remind everyone that September is Histiocytosis Awareness Month.
Through increased awareness comes the hope for increased research and the possibility of a cure!
