It was resolved (Resolution 84/12 on 27 April 2012) that immediately following the determination for the Nichols Code of Conduct by the Division of Local Government, council investigate making a joint application with Cr Nichols for lifting of the Supreme Court Suppression Order in the matter.

The Code of Conduct complaints have cost Singleton Council in the vicinity of $1M. With the prospect of the complainant being elected, the community needs to know in advance who the complainant is, so that they can make an informed voting decision at the September 8 election.

We, the undersigned, call on Singleton Council to progress lifting the suppression order on the Code of Conduct complainant's name in the Cr. Nichols case, before the September 8 Local Government Elections.

With the possibility of the complainant being elected, the community could then make an informed decision when casting their vote.

The Lift the Suppression Order Protecting the Code of Conduct Complainant petition to Singleton Council was written by Kylie Stibbard and is in the category Local Government at GoPetition.
