On Friday March 20th 2009, Mark Shirley brutally raped and sexually assaulted Helen Stockford at knife-point. This happened just seven months after he was released from prison on parole.
Mark Shirley was already convicted of murdering a 67 year old woman in Cardiff when he was just 16. Shirley was given a life sentence for this murder in 1987 but was released on parole in 2003 after serving 16 years. He was later recalled to prison for excessive drinking and released again in August 2008.
We, the undersigned, are asking, that Mark Shirley be kept in prison, without parole, for the rest of his life, for the safety and protection of the public.
