-This is the second application the applicant has filed with the city. She will be using the program k-12 online for the "students". The first application was withdrawn by the applicant, Theresa Darr, because the Mayor and City Council stated that Ms. Darr's educational piece involving Sinclair Community College GED program did not define or qualify her operation as a school after receiving council from the attorney assigned to this case. Her options were to get denied and appeal, or to withdraw the app and reapply.
-Ms. Darr has stated that this facility will be a residential "school" for 16-18 year old boys.
-She has stated that these boys will be from the foster care system and also from military homes.
-This is not a locked- down facility. Ms. Darr has stated that the "students" are not held against their will, and are free the roam.
-These boys will have a 10:00 pm curfew, meaning they are free to roam the neighborhood.
We the citizens of Huber Heights, and the neighbors of 5363 Tilbury Rd, call on the City of Huber Heights Mayor, City Council, Planning Commission and Zoning Departments, to deny this application due to outstanding evidence that suggests that this facility will be a nuisance in our neighborhood.
