I moved my electrical business into a new industrial shed in Logan Village in January 2011 and found that I could not get any internet. I was completely shocked. I was told there was no available ports in the Logan Village telephone exchange. I then tried wireless internet which I had no luck with as it kept dropping out, was unreliable and very frustrating.

After 6 months of talking to local people and getting in touch with the Jimboomba Times, who wrote an article regarding my internet frustrations, I was contacted by Beaudesert Telstra Shop who were a great help. They were able to put a case forward and find a spare port available, I was finally able to get the internet connected at my workshop so my business could perform has I had hoped.

While I have been lucky to finally get my internet connected, there are still many people in the region that have been unsuccessful in obtaining internet services. I believe that we need to stand together as a community and join this petition in order to see change.

Logan Village/ Jimboomba RIM exchanges and associated cabling feeding the exchanges need to be upgraded ASAP as multiple customers are being told that there are no ports available.

Population in these areas are growing rapidly and we feel that the telecommunications infrastructure in the region has been neglected for a long time.
