Petition to Keep L.C. X.C. Guys Shirtless

We, the Cross Country team of Lynden Christian Schools, hereby declare and reserve our rights that are held in concordance with the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

The recent issue concerning the right to the removal of our upper garments has conjured an establishment that we believe withholds this right of “The Pursuit of Happiness” from the runners of the X.C. team of Lynden Christian Schools.

Resolved, we, the L.C. X.C. Guys, with all due respect to the authoritative figure of L.C, hereby sign this petition, in which we declare wholeheartedly that the removing of our upper garments during workouts and under natural conditions that may otherwise prove hazardous to our health, is a right that is granted to us under the law of the United States of America, and that any withholding of this right is an insult to Cross Country runners everywhere.

We, the undersigned, resolve that this recent ban on shirtlessness should be uplifted from the L.C. Guys Cross Country team.
