Keep Kent the Garden of England
This petition was published by William Hampshire on Nov 22, 2009
During the past few years Kent has gone from the Garden of England to the Industrial Backgarden of England.
The concreting of fields to provide motorways mainly for the use of foreign HGVs, the high speed rail links, the erection of unsightly polytunnels over large areas of grade 1 farm land is now altering the landscape and overall scene of Kent.
The now proposed huge lorry parks in rural areas is just going too far. It is time to stop the desecration of Kent, and the residents of Ickham, a lovely little village near Canterbury are objecting to the spread of polytunnels, by opposing a retrospective planning application for the erection of these factory farm methods in their village.
We ask that you support this petition to keep Kent from becoming damaged any more.
