We, the signers of this petition, who live with chronic pain ourselves or are affected by a loved ones with chronic pain issues, are asking that the FDA reconsider its decision to upgrade Hydrocodone to a class II schedule drug.
We, the undersigned call on the FDA to reconsider its decision to re-schedule hydrocodone to a schedule II drug.
We do not believe that rescheduling hydrocodone will accomplish anything positive as far as abuse is concerned but will only create unnecessary hardship for chronic pain patients and their physicians.
As is, it is difficult enough to obtain hydrocodone prescriptions with all the recent changes.
We believe it is unconstitutional to deny us relief from suffering regardless of alleged abuse of a medication, and we know as well as you do that many physicians will refuse to write schedule II prescriptions, because of fear of auditing, etc.
We ask for your compassion in this matter so that we may maintain our dignity and live our lives without severe pain.
