It has come to my attention that Dr. Connie Morrison has been offered a tenure track position at McGill University.
Anyone who has taken a course with Dr. Morrison knows that she is an outstanding professor. She demonstrates exemplary teaching, always goes above and beyond, and is thoughtful and caring. She is constantly changing course materials to be current and forces her students to think and see things in a different way. She is a real person and is one of the reasons so many of us choose to take her courses and recommend them to other students.
This is my third course with Dr. Morrison and she is one of the main reasons why my graduate experience in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning has been so pleasurable. It saddens me to think that future students will not get a chance to avail of this wonderful professor. I cannot understand why she is leaving Memorial University without so much as an offer. We were taught in this graduate program to take action against injustice.
I feel that letting Dr. Morrison go to McGill without a fight would be an injustice. Let's keep Dr. Connie Morrison at Memorial.
