When the Cicero Falcons Pop Warner Organization was established around 1979, there was not an organization for the Central Square School District area. Boundaries were drawn without the need to specify where the kids in Brewerton will play. They were apart of Central Square Schools but in the town of Cicero (Onondaga County).

Some 20 years later, CS put together its own organization. Since its start in 1993, the Brewerton Kids were still required to travel to Cicero if they wanted to participate in football or cheerleading. A 3 yr agreement was set up around 2006 to try out an open territory for the Brewerton kids. They would have the choice to sign up for CS or for Cicero. Parents were happy to finally have the option to have their kids play with the kids they go to school with and with the kids that they will eventually play with at the high school level. There were many kids who did not play because they were not allowed to play for Central Square.

Since, the agreement has expired, the Cicero and CNY Pop Warner organizations refuse to adjust the boundaries and/or grant waivers for our Brewerton kids. We feel that it is only necessary to permanently redraw the boundaries for the Brewerton area kids so that they will be allowed to play for the CS organization. The organization they SHOULD be apart of. Having a waiver process in place does not insure that our kids will be allowed to play for CS. In fact, in the past, waivers have never been given to the Brewerton kids who wish to play for CS over Cicero.

We feel that to guarantee our children the opportunity to play and not have to dispute waivers and boundaries every year. We must have 100% granted waivers for the 2010 Season AND permanent boundary adjustment for Brewerton kids to play in Central Square Pop Warner. This is the wish and right of the parents and kids of the area.

The Pop Warner organization is supposed to foster a sense of community, encourage academic excellence within their schools and teach the game of football and cheerleading. This will be done most effectively if our children are allowed to participate in an organization with their friends; teachers and neighbors are also participating.

The Central Square teachers, coaches, parents and volunteers have a vested interest in our kids because they are apart of the Central Square School District community. We are trying to build bonds and friendships between children that will carry over into the high school level. It only makes sense to allow Brewerton kids to play for Central Square.

We, the undersigned, call on the Cicero and CNY Pop Warner to permanently change the boundarie between Brewerton and Cicero so that the Brewerton Area Kids can play for Central Square Pop Warner.

We are also requesting that for the 2010 Season all Brewerton Kids be allowed to play for Central Square by either a waiver granted (without first signing up for Cicero Falcons and waiting for funds to be transfered) or by keep the open territory until boundaries are finalized to reflect above request.

We will not accept anything less, these are our kids and it should be our choice where they play.
