Introduce a Noise Ordinance for peace in Melrose

This is a request for a Noise Ordinance to be issued to protect the peace of the community. This should cover animals (dogs), music, and more that disturb surrounding neighbors, etc after decent times in the evening and occurring before decent times in the morning hours.

Melrose Township does not have any ordinances in place that protect residents both seasonal and non-seasonal from disturbances of the peace. Music and animals are fine, but it has come to my attention that some people do not have any consideration for their neighbors and when an appropriate time for quiet is. Between barking dogs and blaring stereos, nothing can stop any person(s) from disturbing the peace in any way, shape or form.

There are no noise ordinances that are in place in Melrose Township or in Charlevoix County. The township says there is nothing they can do. They suggest we contact the County. The county states that they can only enforce noise disturbances that are enforceable by city or township ordinances.
