Our son, Trenton, 20 is disabled. He is hearing impaired and developmentally delayed. Trenton has always been required to catch the school bus along the route of 119th Place NE. Now, he is part of the adult transition program that provides a school to work program.

With this program, many young disabled adults are taught to ride the city buses to get to and from their job sites, in addition to gaining independence that they might not otherwise have.

With that, my disabled, hearing impaired son, crosses 119th Place NE each morning. At this time of the day, traffic is high, visibility is often low and two bus stops mirror each other on each side of the street, but NO crosswalk is available for he or any other residents to use to safely access those stops.

I would like to propose that a crosswalk with pedestrian flags be place at NE 150th Place and 119th Place NE to allow safe crossing to each bus stop. I believe that this marking, with flags could eliminate another tragedy in neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, support the installation of a crosswalk with pedestrian flags at NE 150th Place and 119th Place NE.
