Kentucky legislation

United States of America

Homelessness is a huge problem in the state of Kentucky. Many who are homeless are homeless due to the inability and lack or resources to recover after spending time in jail or in an institution. They are unable to escape the vicious cycle of homelessness and get back on their feet.

HB 351 provides support for these people. It helps them reenter the community. Statistics have proven that being part of a community greatly reduces violent tendencies. This bill would give qualifying individuals a second chance and help get people off our streets. It will also save our tax dollars that go to maintaining state run facilities.

Please support this worthy cause and reduce the number of homeless people in Kentucky.

We, the undersigned, call on the Kentucky state legislature to pass House Bill 351. HB 351 intends to implement and secure the funding for a homelessness prevention pilot program.

It would provide services and information about available employment, health care, education, and housing to people being released from foster care programs, state-run mental institutions, and state-operated prisons in Oldham County.

The program would have offices in various other counties including Jefferson, McCreary, and Wayne County to implement the program there.
