On January 14th 2016 the local Clinton Public School District Board will be handing down their final vote to approve a $2,000,000 Football Field Artificial Turf. With the Clinton Public School District in a very dangerous Debt Service ratio of 10.74% or 4 times a healthy Debt Service Ratio of 2%. How are we affording a $2,000,000 Football Field Turf Replacement? We have been asking Board Members but with no answers. Also where are we getting the funds? Federal Title 9 Funds, Bank Loan or where?

If we were to take a bank loan out for $2,000,000 at 5% interest rate over 10 years we would be paying $545,572 of total interest or $45,464 per year in interest alone. So total cost of almost $3,000,000 for this turf replacement! In addition the artificial turf only last 8-10 years.

So it's safe to say we will be paying $300,000 per year to have turf forever? Also for note Real Grass Turf Replacement cost between $500,00-$650,000 or 60-70% less and with ZERO replacement cost in 10 years when turf will be another $3,000,000+?

We, the undersigned, call on the Clinton Public School Board to place a "hold" on your vote until all options including a Real Grass Turf replacement are considered in the Football Field Replacement Turf Program.
