Hockey Canada needs to change its currently very outdated co-Ed dressing room policy with the changing times in Canada. Currently once players hit the PeeWee level they are separated based on gender. This being said the girls ( most often only one) is forced in to a changing room by themselves and no longer part of the team until 10 minutes prior to the start of a game or practice to go over strategies. This is not fair for any child to be made to feel a second class citizen. It should be up to the team on who can be in the changing rooms.

These children are old enough and have enough self-respect to know if they are uncomfortable. A separate room can be made available for anyone that does not feel comfortable with someone of a different gender being in the room but allow teams to decide this and not force it upon them. Imagine what would happen if the policy started separating the teams on other aspects other than gender.

Anyone who supports a change to allow the ones playing the game to decide on who can put their hockey gear in the same room please sign and let your voice be heard. Remember it might be two genders but they play as one team.

We, the undersigned, call on Hockey Canada to change the co-ed dressing room policy to allow the team members decided if two genders can dress in one room.
