Alzheimer's Disease has changed the needs of the elderly forever. There is no cure and the numbers will continue to grow. The elderly today have different needs that the current Medicare System is not providing.

It cannot continue to be ignored. No one is asking for a handout. These people fought past wars for our freedom, raised families, worked hard and paid taxes all their life with the belief in such a system. The Medicare system will pay a nursing home, but not to a assisted living facility. Assisted living centers offers a safe and secure environment. They prepare meals, offer activities, and provide assistance with medication. The Alzheimer's patient is a functioning, social individual. A nursing home would if anything be detrimental. Give them the dignity they deserve.

This disease has been reportedly showing up in younger years, so just another reason for better planning.

So, I am asking that the Fed. Government realize and revise this obsolete system.

These seniors paid in all their lives. Let them / and their families decide what their needs are. If it just isn 't that important to you, then just mail each and everyone of these senior citizens a check for all the years they were faithful to you.

Furthermore let it be known that even though Medicare does assist with nursing home costs, assisted living operators get nothing, The operators and the families pay for it all.

Please help me get the needs of the elderly addressed and revised by contributing your name to this petition.

Help make a difference in the care of our elderly , and possibly you or I someday. Let our voices be heard for a better tomorrow. has changed the needs of the elderly forever. With all this in mind , I am writing this letter for my mother. Diagnosed a year or more ago with that heartbreaking disease. I told her what I was doing and she smiled. A smile worth a thousand smiles.
The issue is that the Federal Government has been putting off this subject for along time. The number of elderly affected keeps growing, and there is no cure.
It could be you or I someday. The age that it onsets has even gotten younger.
THe current obsolete Medicare guidelines will only pay for nursing home facilities. Those do not fit the needs of Alziemer's patients because most are still functioning, and social indiviguals . They simply need a place that can offer them a safe, organized enviroment with assistance with things such as meals , meds, and whatever they may require . They are usually in good overall health. They just get confused at times .

Alziemer' has changed that forever.

These seniors paid in all their lives. Let them and their families deside what their needs are. And if you don't have the time or just don't think it is that important , then maybe the Medicare department could simply cut all of these senior citizen taxpayers refund checks . Let them / and their families deside what is best for them.
No one is askingfor a handout or charity. You owe it to them. My mother costs 3500.00 a month and it will continue to go up. It makes me sad to think about what is happening to those who have noboby out here.
I guess they get stuck in places like nursing homes. A place you go to die.
Emergency request for revisement.
I hope that I can make a difference.
