Petition text:
They are meeting to pray to God, and they will discuss Freedom of Religion and Democracy for Vietnam. This morning we received some information from Vietnam, by the "PalTalk" program.
Six representatives from the minorities were arrested and thrown in jail by the Vietnamese Police. The minorities only want the freedom to pray and study the Bible.
When the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom came to Vietnam, the Vietnamese People's Evangelical Fellowship (VPEF) wanted to meet them, but the communists of Vietnam stopped the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom from meeting with the VPEF.
We have a list of twenty people, some include Vietnamese police that are local to the area. These people have physically abused Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh. The people who lost their land to the government of Vietnam, and protested it were beaten by some of the people on this list. One name that stands out is Mr. Rahlan Lam. He is the Chief of Security/ Investigator for Gia Lai. On September 5, 2006 he physically assault Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh at his office.
The person who is #5 on the list, is Vo Thi Hien, she is the Mayor of the Vietnamese Police of Gia Lai. On September 16, 2006 at noon she sent four "troublemakers," to strip Pastor Nguyen Cong Chinh of his clothes, and at 4:15 PM Vo Thi Hien threw a glass of water in his face. She used a lot of vulgarity when she yelled at him. She is known for banning people from praying and studying the Bible.
I have attached the list on the Link
