Our Downtown Waterfront is a generally active, dynamic place, but there is a glaring activity gap between the Aquarium and Rowes Wharf-- both along the Harbor on the Greenway.
A redeveloped Harbor Garage would enliven this underutilized segment of the waterfront, allowing the people of Massachusetts to "touch the water" as contemplated under Chapter 91 and the Public Realm Plan.
In order to realize the long list of public benefits contemplated by the Public Realm Plan, significant development will be necessary.
The Harbor Garage Project will unlock those benefits in the "now" timeframe, while simultaneously ridding the area of its most obtrusive barrier to improvement: the existing garage.
We, the undersigned, support the Harbor Garage Project and The Chiofaro Company's efforts to convert its vision to reality.
