July 11th 2014 was a dark day for GMIT with the closure of our college gym. For the past 14 years GMIT SU Gym has provided an oasis of health, fitness and wellness for students and staff at GMIT.
Our unique gym provided training facilities and professional support for over 400 continuous members annually, creating a support network that spanned age, gender, weight, ability, race, colour and creed.
GMIT Gym On Campus – 1 Gym for 1 college, for ALL!
We, the undersigned, call on the GMIT SU to reinstate our ON CAMPUS gym and fitness suite.
We call on GMIT to assign the running of said gym to a seperate entity to ensure its preservation and to no longer fall under the remit of the Students' Union.
