In 1984, Prime Minister Thatcher offered a bribe to the employees at GCHQ to give up their Trade Union rights.
A small group of staff refused to accept the bribe and were sacked. So began one of the longest (and successful) disputes in British Trade Union history. An action we must never forget.
We remember with pride and gratitude the stance of those principled trade unionists at GCHQ who 30 years ago refused to sell their Trade Union membership by accepting Thatcher’s bribe.
As a result they were sacked and so began one of the longest disputes in British Trade Union history.
We honour them by signing this petition.
