Condemn the ConDems decision to not fund asbestos related cancer research

In 2009 the labour government had agreed to fund a research programme into asbestos based cancers including mesothelioma which is the 12th highest killer of males in the country. Now the ConDems are retracting the promise of funding so i am trying to get a petition to no 10.
My husband was diagnosed in march this year at the age of 60. There is no cure YET which is why research is vital. Prognosis is 5 mths to 5 years. Over 2,500 people ( mainly males) are diagnosed with this killer each year & those figures are not going to dwindle within the next 10 years.
Mesothelioma lies dormant for over 40 years in some cases before being discovered. The government thinks we should fight for funding like the charities have to do now.
We the undersigned ask the government to seriously reconsider the application for £10 million to research asbestos related cancers especially mesothelioma.
This is an incurable horrible disease which people have described as drowning on dry land. If your family had to have this hanging over them how would they feel? To lose their dad, grandad or husband at any age is horrible. Do the right thing for once.
