We, the taxpayers, parents, and citizens within the FM 359 vicinity of Lamar Independent School District are firmly against the possible rezoning of our current school designation within the Lamar Consolidated School District.
In our efforts to substantiate and justify our protest against rezoning in our area, we must say first, that many of us pay extremely high school and property taxes for our desired locations (zoned for Foster HS/Briscoe JH). We are willing to pay higher taxes in order to have our kids go to the schools we want them to go to.
We are firmly against the rezoning due to the potential decrease in our home values over time. If the rezoning takes place, it is most likely that our homes will become less desirable if Lamar High School becomes the designated school for this area.
We, the homeowners, parents, and taxpayers of Lamar Independent School District (FM 359 vicinity), are protesting against any rezoning of our part of the district for the reasons listed above. Please hear our petition for denial and reject all proposals for rezoning the FM 359 area.
