We, the fans of outdoor music performers in the City of Fernandina Beach, are dismayed at the city commissioners' and city attorney's interpretation of the the city ordinance code: Chapter 42, Article 5.
We believe music should be a form of Freedom of Speech, our First Amendment of the Constitutional Rights.
We consider the current evaluation of the noise level to be unjust and interpreted by individuals at an inconsistent degree.
We, the undersigned, ask the Fernandina Beach City Commissioners to re-evaluate the expression of excersing the First Amendment, Freedom of Speech, by allowing music to be played in the city as stated by the current Noise Ordinance Code: Chapter 42, Article 5.
We request that the noise level be measured by a more accurate measurement and not by the opinion of individuals.
