ESFNA should share its revenues with its players

Petition: ESFNA should share its revenues with its players. 6/21/09
The Ethiopian Sports Federation in North America (ESFNA) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in 1984 to promote amateur soccer and cultural events within the Ethiopian community in the North America.
The organization decides which major US city should hold the week long annual sports and cultural events, and announces it to the general public. It has 27 soccer teams from different states (now after a petition with the inclusion of womens' teams as well), and also runs individual sports such as Table Tennis and Golf; all on voluntary/unforced basis.
The federation earns its revenues from stadium ticket sells, donors, advertisers, vendors, concerts, etc. The general public can freely inspect the federation’s financial statements with the IRS if interested.
This petition is prepared to ask the federation to monetarily award its players who are the events main source of income. Without them such a magnificent get together and socio-cultural occasion couldn’t be possible. Each winning team should get awarded $100,000, and similar monetary awards of about $10,000 each should be assigned for the top three place winners of the Table Tennis and Golf tournaments. The summation of this hypothetical monetary award is only a fraction of the total revenue that ESFNA gets each year; but it will have a huge impact on those players towards assisting them in paying for coaches, buying equipment, covering transportation and hotel costs, club membership fees and so on. (OR AWARD THE PLAYERS ON PERCENTAGE BASIS OF ESFNA's INCOME).
This will bring the quality/standard of the games much higher as well as attract such popular sports as basketball, chess and athletics (5K, 10K).
It is certain that exemplary organizations like ESFNA will gladly support this idea and implement it, although initial e-mail correspondence was not very fruitful.

We, the undersigned, call on ESFNA to share a fraction/percentage of its revenues with its players who are the main source of its revenue.
