We all start out with a dream of the house with the white picket fence & children laughing and playing and happy family get togethers. But not all marriages end up being like that. Sometimes things turn sour & end up in a bitter divorce battle and the ones suffering emotionally are the innocent ones.... the children.

This can result in Parent Alienation. A form of abuse where innocent children are used against the one parent by the other.

Divorces are ugly, messy, painful and can become a form of abuse. Starting from home, to the process of the divorce, the Courtroom and for long thereafter.
It should be made a law that both parents equally share all expenses in respect of their child/children (school fees, medical expenses, clothing, etc). After all it did take both consenting adults to create the child/children. Responsibilities should be equal.

There is also a tendency to 'punish' the non-custodial parent in the unfortunate
event of the inability to pay maintenance due to loss of income, unemployment, etc. Punishment being in the form of denying access, knowing full well of the pain it inflicts. Children are being 'abused' as tools to manipulate the system, apply pressure for payment, or any other needs that the custodial parent wants. The custodial parents sometimes expect exorbitant amounts of maintenance per month which does not get calculated within the means of the non-custodial's life style.

This is a international problem which seems to be ignored or swept under the rug thinking it will go away.

If there is going to be any amendment to the Maintenance Act and the Children's Act, it should be to benefit both parents and the children. The injustice has to stop.

For any further information you can visit our Facebook page called Lets Talk Abt Helping Parents Who Are Alienated From Children, alternatively you can Google PAS (Parent Alienation Syndrome) and also Google an international event called Bubbles For Love.

We need to stop the abuse here and now. We need your signatures.

Each and every signature we get will add some weight to this petition.
