Dress codes have been put in place due to students coming to school in inappropriate attire. However, we feel that a free dress code can be in place and appropriate at the same time. I Jody Guy have done some research on the benefits of a free dress code. Having a school uniform suppresses individuality, and expression. Expressing your self through your wardrobe can make you feel comfortable and confident, and you can be appropriate at the same time.

If the district creates a set of guidelines to a free dress code and stick to the current consequences for infractions then there will not be a problem with indecent exposure. I believe that if a set of guidelines is applied then the school will have a more comfortable feel while remaining safe and appropriate. Attached are a suggested set of guidelines.
