he ALP State Government committed to fund this Masterplan in 2010 just prior to the State Election which it subsequently lost.
We need your help now to urge the current State Government and the ALP to announce funding for the Masterplan.
We, the undersigned, call on the Legislative Assembly of Victoria to announce funding for the Elwood College Masterplan. This smart and sustainable Masterplan adds new building and spaces, while renewing the value and purpose of current facilities. It is the result of an extensive consultation process with students, teachers and community members in 2010.
The former ALP State Government committed to funding the Masterplan prior to the 2010 state election. Elwood College, with a 32% increase in enrolments into Year 7 in 2014, and projected increased enrolment in the next decade, continues to await its share of education funding.The funding of this Masterplan will also benefit our local Hub education partners;Poets Grove Children's Centre and Elwood Primary School, as well as community members who use our facilities.
The Masterplan provides our students with innovative learning environments designed for modern education, includes flexible spaces for multiple uses, a new VCE centre, gym and Arts wing. Elwood College has provided a wonderful education community for more than five decades. It needs this funding to meet growing students numbers and continue to develop as the local school of choice.
